I love MeshCentral. I’ve been using it for several years, across a variety of devices and platforms, both in the home and in business environments. It’s an immensely useful (yet simple) management tool, and features integration with Intel AMT.
The project is open source, developed by an engineer at Intel. It is, indeed, still actively developed. While the platform is offered as a (free) service at MeshCentral.com, one is able to host their own infrastructure if such isolation is desired.
Anyhow, one of (in my opinion, at least) the best features is the fact that the mesh agent is available for a large variety of hardware and software platforms. This list of platforms (at one point in time) included both Android and Chrome OS. Fantastic.
Unfortunately, the Chrome OS version has been missing for quite some time. And while the Android version still exists, it hasn’t been updated in 5 years, and isn’t compatible with only a (very small) handful of (mostly old) devices.
I’d love to see these platforms revived. The Android agent, in particular, has been incredibly useful for managing my young children’s (old) tablet. The link to the agent on the Google Play Store can be found below:
